Something had to be done. Factory hooks are way too prone to getting nudged off.

I tried other contraptions for securing a drill but didn’t like giving up a hook for a proprietary ‘pin’ that only works with a dedicated ‘holster’. I often found myself up a ladder without a place to connect the ‘pin’. I also bought a gadget to better secure a tape measure. A plastic wedge replaced the existing clip and connected with a ‘holster’ worn on a belt. I thought it was great until the day I couldn’t locate the ‘holster’. Climbing the extension ladder with my 30’ tape and no way to hook the wedge to my belt or pocket felt awkward and foolish.
